Thanks to All of Our Flexpress Family
We speak often of the new technology and top-of-the-line equipment we have here at Flexpress, but we know it doesn’t mean a thing without our great employees. We see the dedication our employees put into their jobs every day and want to send out a sincere “thank you!” to each one for all their hard work. From the technical savvy needed to run the equipment to the incredible ninja-like hand skills of our bindery crew as they assemble the detailed pieces we print, customer service and pride in a job well done is evident every step of the way. We also want to thank our customers for partnering with us. We strive daily to deliver the best possible product as we work for you and with you. And, of course, our vendors deserve a big nod of appreciation for working hard to provide the equipment and materials we need to do our jobs. It truly is a team effort and we hope everyone knows how much they are appreciated. Thanks to all, and have a great Labor Day Weekend!

Employee Spotlight: Kris L.
This month our employee spotlight turns to Kris, one of the most positive, upbeat people we know. He is a great team player and a favorite co-worker in every department. In typical fashion, Kris willingly agreed to help us by taking time from his busy schedule to answer a few questions… with a smile. How long have you been with the company? I have been with Flexpress for 3 years now. But it feels like I just started a few months ago. How would you describe your duties here? I started in the bindery and I still pitch in there when needed. But I now handle the daily shipping, whether UPS, FedEx, USPS or couriers. I also assist Philip and Sandy up front from time to time and I help everyone if they have iPhone issues, especially in setting up their emails on them. What was the most unusual job you held before joining Flexpress? My first job I worked for Dominos Pizza. That was pretty interesting and an experience. Employee Spotlight: David N.
Once again it is time to shine the spotlight on one of our employees and let everyone get to know a little more about the great group we’ve got here at Flexpress. This month we visit with David, one of our longest-tenured employees. David has been with us for 19 of our 20 years in business! David was kind enough to share a moment with us as he went about his busy day of keeping our computer systems running smoothly – no small feat considering the high volume of projects we handle each day. What is your official title at Flexpress? Manager of support services What was the most unusual job you held before joining Flexpress? Picking coffee in Kenya. How would you describe your duties here? Serving internal and external customers. If you could switch jobs with one person at Flexpress for the day, who would it be? I would not want to switch but if I had to it would be Sales. People sometimes assume IT guys are computer geeks. Do you think of yourself in those terms? Employee Spotlight: Sandy S.
What is your official title at Flexpress? Front Desk Receptionist How would you describe your duties at Flexpress? I would describe them as ACTIVE. Yes, active, as we are always moving, moving, moving and I don’t mind it one bit. This isn’t your regular receptionist job that requires you to just sit, enter data and answer calls. I like that I can move around from department to department helping wherever I am needed. My favorite part of the job is that we never have a dull moment. If you could switch jobs at Flexpress for the day, what would it be and why? That’s a tough question because every job is a challenge here. I would go with Pre-press. I want to know how the machines work. That would be beneficial to me so I can understand how long it takes to run jobs. What do you like to do outside of work? This one is easy. SHOPPING! Employee Spotlight: Ralph L.
What is your official title at Flexpress? I believe my official title would be Printer Operator/Bindery How would you describe your duties at Flexpress? My job at Flexpress varies due to being a printer and working in bindery. At times I am collating books, padding, inserting, tabs and binding, and other times I’m working the printers, running jobs and monitoring the machines. What is your favorite part of your job? The favorite part of my job would be the spontaneous goods and big potlucks we have about every month. I can never resist free food and desserts. What one thing would people be most surprised to find out about you? One thing I think people would be most surprised to find out is that I was in All District Choir. What do you like to do outside of work? When I’m not working, I love to relax and just hang out with friends. I also love dancing, filming, going to the gym and playing sports such as football and basketball. I understand you are in a dance group. How did you get interested in that? Employee Spotlight: Philip R.
We are so fortunate to have some great people here at Flexpress and one of the best is Philip, our GM. If you have ever called or come in, there is a very good chance you’ve had the pleasure of talking with him. While Philip is an incredibly strong source of knowledge about all things print related, we’ve decided to put him to the test and find out a few things about a different subject – him. We think you will be as impressed as we are. You are such a presence at Flexpress. How long have you been with the company? Eleven years. What was your first job at Flexpress? We really didn’t have positions/titles when I started in 2000. We had a much smaller staff. You were expected to be able to handle everything that came in, or find a way to make it happen. It was really important to be able to multitask and handle multiple jobs/positions: help customers, scan jobs, run the machines, do bindery, and work nights and weekends. Employee Spotlight: Sue S.
Our employees are a great and diverse group of people and we want to let you know a little bit about them. This month we talk with Sue, one of the behind-the-scenes go-getters that keeps Flexpress running. If you’ve ever visited Flexpress you may have noticed a smiling, multi-tasking blur of energy zipping around getting things done. That blur is Sue. We’ve slowed her down enough to answer a few questions today and only wish you could hear the laughter in her voice as she answered them. How long have you been with Flexpress? From the beginning … 20 years. What is your official title at Flexpress? Administration. That means I do Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. I also research client solutions as needed and I’m not only always ready to assist with anything, I probably have at one point or another! Wow, that sounds like you wear a lot of hats. It’s that time again, when we shine the spotlight on one of our own. We have a great group of people working at Flexpress and we want to let you get to know them as well as we do. Today we focus on John, one of the terrific linchpins in our hand bindery department. What is your official title at Flexpress? Bindery Production/Fulfillment How long have you been with Flexpress? One and a half years What did you do prior to working with Flexpress? I interned with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department while pursuing a Criminal Justice degree at Sam Houston State University. How would you describe your duties at Flexpress? To make sure every job I touch in the bindery runs smoothly and efficiently. What is your favorite part of your job?
